Cast iron skillet

Cast iron skillet

A cast iron skillet is my fry pan of choice – I used to go through a cheap non-stick pan every year or two and would always get incredibly annoyed by the fact that no only did they not last, but they didn’t seem to get hot enough to properly fry things, and the non-stick would always wear off. Not to mention the potential dangers of teflon, which is used for the manufacturing of most non-stick cookware.

Cast iron skillets can sometimes be found in camping stores, garage sales or second hand stores – or if you don’t want to go rummaging around for one, you can always purchase direct through Amazon (link below).

Some of the recipes on to her core which will work beautifully in a cast iron skillet are

Savoury Veggie Pancake with Coconut Coriander Pesto

Fried Zucchini, Basil and Quinoa Salad with Broccoli Pesto

Shakshouka (baked eggs)

Spiced Pear and Blueberry Skillet Cake
