February feels like it was a little quiet compared with January! The weather was a little unimpressive (summer you say!?) though it has started to improve a little over the past week. March and April – ie early autumn – is my favorite time of year in Tasmania. The weather is warm, but not hot, with a slight coolness coming through, the leaves are starting to turn and the light is just beautiful – really soft, with a gorgeous glow. I feel like I didn’t make the most of this time last year so this year I’m planning lots of outdoor adventures during this time!
We saw the movie Lion, which I loved, and cried throughout (nothing new – I have a bit of a rep fro crying through any movie!) Especially loved all of the scenes shot here in Hobart!
Still eating buddha bowls, this month’s highlights have been crispy cauliflower and creamy pepita + olive dip (this one is a winner, tastes like a creamy tapenade mmmm!)
I was eating a lot of “breakfast salads” (think eggs, raw + cooked veggies, hummus, fermented veggies, gomashio etc) in the warmer months, but leading into autumn (or “fall” for you north Americans ;) I’ve been perfecting my porridge game ready for the cooler months.
Continuing to self-critique my photography, and trying to apply this to other areas of my life as well.
Trying my hand at rye sourdough
Is this not the cutest animal you have ever seen?
Lamenting the fact that it’s nearly the end of berry season, but thankful I have a freezer full of frozen blueberries ready to be baked into delicious cake.
Only two bushwalks in February, though both were pretty spectacular! We did the Mt Field tarn shelf circuit earlier in the month, and spent a weekend on Maria Island, where we walked up Bishop & Clerk, as well as a few shorter walks around the island. You can see images for both on my personal Instagram page.
The Faroe Islands are high on our list of places to visit on our European holiday later this year. I mean seriously, how amazing does this place look?
And I will remember not to ask for any cookies when we visit Hungary ;)
